Spring Break

It’s just before 8am and I’m sitting on my porch with my dog. The sun is just starting to come up, I’ve got coffee in hand and aside from the chirping birds it’s completely quiet. It’s so peaceful and calm and I’m enjoying every minute of it. Soon, the littles will be awake. And I won’t get anymore peace and quiet until they go to bed tonight. So I’ve got to take advantage of it while I can.

We’ve been on spring break this week so it’s been pretty loud in Momma’s house. The weather has been up and down so it’s made activities difficult to plan. But we did make it to the beach once so we’ve got that going for us.

I’ve learned that it’s hard to find balance being a full time working mom. I work late hours and I’m exhausted. The littles want to go and do and I just want to sit and do nothing. In addition to working I also have to take care of the household so after all of that, my energy is depleted.

I have the day off today and need to clean the house. The floors need mopping, furniture needs dusting and don’t even get me started on laundry mountain. But today is Friday and the last day of spring break and I’ve decided that spending time with my kiddos is more important. The housework can wait. I assure you that it’s not going anywhere!

I’m still not 100% sure on what our plans will be for today. But I’m determined to have fun with my babies and leave the responsibilities for another day.

The only thing I do know, is that I’m going to need more coffee….
